What type of waters are you fishing, predominantly (select up to 3)?  This affects gear selection a great deal, for example fishing for trout in a small mountain stream demands different gear than a large swift river (even if the trout you catch is about the same size in both locations), and whether you need versatile gear or specialized gear:
